Our adoption journey began in May 2008.  We had a vague idea of things to come during the following months.  The huge amount of paperwork, background checks, and fingerprints over and over.  All the while we could only imagine what our little girl would look like and how old she would be, but we knew He had a plan for us.  We submitted our dossier in February 2009 and the wait began.  We find out in March 2010 that we are #11 on the waiting list and to expect a referral around May or June.  The excitement builds as God prepares our hearts and our daughter.  During our wait a new 2-trip requirement goes into affect.  We receive the referral of our beautiful little girl Aster on June 21,2010.  The excitement began to build again along with the anticipation of meeting her.  Once we excepted her referral the process began for officially making her a part of our family.  In August, we received a surprise court date  set for November 19.  One step closer to bringing Aster home.  Our journey to meet her, although short, was so amazing.  She has such an amazing spirit and the most beautiful brown eyes.  The next best thing was hearing the judge say "she is yours".  Ethiopia is truly a wonderful place.

Embassy appointment.......

Today was such a surprise.  We got the call today confirming our Embassy appt for Jan. 6th.  We are over the moon with excitement.  We are now desperately searching for airline tickets.  I can hardly wait until we hold our little girl in our arms again.
